Daniel Price, Boston-native and incredibly talented musician (with a voice like warm honey) has released the visually seductive “In The End” music video.
Daniel Price. Wow. Pookie’s latest and definitely greatest discovery, I thank my lucky stars for letting me stumble upon this fantastic artist. His music is luscious and nourishing, with a soothing effect, filled to the brim with sounds of acoustic guitars, synths, r&b vocal layers, and of course, an irresistible groove. Think Dijon, Daniel Caesar vibes reinterpreted with Price’s own distinctive charisma and creative flare. His debut album “Peaking” released last month, containing seven beautifully crafted tracks, each one pulling me closer into the perspective of the 22 year old musician.
Raised in Boston, Daniel Price is now operating in the City of Angels and he’s certainly leaving his mark. Today, September 7th, Wonderland Magazine premiered Price’s beautifully shot music video for “In The End”, the intro track to his debut album. The music video, shot on 16mm film and directed by Khufu Najee, is completely stunning. Shot in Los Angeles, the video places Daniel Price in various picturesque settings across the city. The project also features friends of the artist, and we get an intimate look at each of their faces as they pose for a dimly lit photoshoot in a blank DTLA warehouse space. The music video is very cinematic, utilizing typically mundane locations and casting them in a more surreal, romantic light. The color grading is possibly my favorite detail in this whole video, which was done by the wonderful Cameron Mary Gold. The level of artistry in this project is top-tier, 100% an excellent example of the magic that happens when cinema and music collide. Watch the video for yourself, and make sure you listen to “Peaking” the album in it’s entirety. Daniel Price is only beginning.
